Use the file hash and signing identity to check the download before you install it.
Expand a release’s verification details to copy its SHA-256. Calculate the hash of the file you downloaded and compare all 64 characters. If they differ, do not open the file.
On Android, an update must be signed by the same release certificate as the installed app. If Android rejects an update, keep your current wallet installed and contact support. Do not remove it to bypass a signature mismatch.
On macOS, retain Gatekeeper checks. Only install the Anon-signed, notarized setup app. A hash alone does not establish who published a file.
For an offline release audit, the release tool verifies detached Ed25519 metadata signatures and every artifact’s bytes using a separately trusted public key. Obtain that key independently from the publisher; a replacement key bundled with an untrusted download does not establish its origin.
